1.    Financial Requirement
a)    Aged below 50 years old

•    Must open a fixed deposit account of RM300,000
•    Can withdraw up to RM240,000 for the purchase of house, medical purpose or education expenses for children in Malaysia after the deposit has been placed for one year.
•    Must maintain a minimum balance of RM60,000 from second year onward and throughout stay in Malaysia under this programme.

b)    Aged 50 years and above

    Can either choose to:-
•    Open a fixed deposit account of RM150,000; or
•    Show proof of monthly off-shore income at least equivalent to RM10,000
•    Only applicants who are drawing from Government Approved Funds can be considered for the 'monthly off-shore' criteria.
•    If they choose the fixed deposit, they can withdraw up to RM90, 000 for the purchase of house, medical insurance or children’s education expenses after the deposit has been placed for one year.
•    Participants must maintain a minimum balance of RM60, 000 throughout their stay in Malaysia under this programme.
Note:
(i)    Successful applicants are allowed to open their fixed deposits in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) only.
(ii)    Participants need to obtain prior approval from Ministry of tourism before proceed to withdraw the fixed deposit.
(iii)    Participants under this programme may withdraw their entire fixed deposit anytime should they decide to terminate their stay in Malaysia under this programme. However, they must obtain prior approval from Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.

2.    Medical Report
All participants and their dependents (spouse and children) are required to submit a medical report from any private hospital / registered clinic in Malaysia.

3.    Medical Insurance
Approved participants and dependents (spouse and children) must posses a valid medical insurance policy which is applicable in Malaysia.

4.    Employment
Participants under Malaysia My Second Home programme are not allowed to work / be employed while staying in Malaysia.

Document To Be Completed For Application

a) Individual application

To apply as individual, submit the following documents:-

  • Application form
  • Two passport-size colour photos
  • Copies of all pages of your travel documents - passport
  • Financial documents as required in the Application Form
  • Statement of income


b) Application together with Spouse and Children

Submit in addition to (a) above:-

  • Two passport size colour of each family member
  • Copies of all pages of each family member's travel documents - passport
  • If your spouse & children are Malaysian citizens, please include copies of their passports, identification cards (MYKAD) and the relevant Marriage Certificate (spouse) or Birth Certificates (children)
  • Copy of Marriage Certificate (for spouse) or Birth Certificate (dependents)

The criteria for application as follows:-
  • MM2H programme is offer to all citizens of countries recognized by the government of Malaysia, regardless of race, religion, gender or age.
  • Applicants must possess a medical insurance coverage from any insurance company that is valid in Malaysia. They are also required to have a medical examination.
  • The candidates however is not permitted to work in the country unless they possess skills and expertise that is lacking amongst the locals, otherwise candidate can only apply as an investor.
  • Dependants under the age of 18 and are still studying are required to apply for Student Pass to further their education in schools or institutions of higher learning in Malaysia.
  • Participants under this programme may withdraw their entire fixed deposit anytime should they decide to terminate their stay in Malaysia under this programme. However, they must obtain prior approval from the Ministry of Tourism.
